Red alert for arrest of Samuel Adam plan to embarrass Mahama – Alex Segbefia
Mr. Alex Segbefia, the Deputy Campaign Manager for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is of the view that the Interpol Red Alert issued for Samuel Adam Foster also known as Samuel Adam to be arrested with three others in relation to the part they are alleged to have played in the Airbus bribery scandal is a well-orchestrated plan aimed at embarrassing the former President John Mahama barely 6 months to the upcoming elections on December 7th.
According to him, one unusual thing observed bout the Red alert for the arrest of Samuel Adam Notice is that the government of the day is aware of the whereabouts of Samuel Mahama who currently lives in the UK and they are aware of his residential address.
He also sought for answers on what constituted the basis for his arrest orders when the UK government itself did not find him Samuel Mahama guilty of any offence to warrant his arrest by the Ghana government.
“One needs to bear in mind that all the hula-baloo about Airbus emanated from the UK courts, who have dealt with it and settled it. And yet even though he and the other persons named in the Red Notice are British Nationals, the UK government has not thought it fit to proffer any charges against them.”

“He is not considered a flight risk so no restrictions have been imposed on him and he has not been asked to hand over his passport. Why would the UK Government, based on the same facts as are narrated in the Red Notice, arrest him for Ghana government? Besides, Ghana has an extradition treaty with the UK. It also has a Mutual Legal Assistance Agreement with the UK,” Alex Segbefia wrote.

Mr. Alex Segbefia, the Deputy Campaign Manager for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) accused the family of President Akufo-Addo for being the mastermind behind media reports aimed at blowing the issue out of proportion.
He said the UK government will not fall for the cheap politics of their Ghanaian Red alert for the arrest of Samuel Adam and the three other named persons.
Not surprising is the fact that the scurrilous story was published in the Sun newspaper in UK and close ties of Akufo-Addo are behind it Mr. Alex Segbegia alleged.
He is also of the view that, the Interpol Red Alert issued is part of the series of plans hatched by the government to embarrass President John Mahama.
