Prof. Mills Commemorative Lecture Put On Hold- UCC
The Prof. Mills Commemorative Lecture, an annual event since the passing of Ghana’s late President, John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills will not be held as planned according to a letter emanating from the University of Cape Coast.
Prof. Mills passed on 24 July 2012 whiles serving as the president of the Republic of Ghana.
The cancellation of the 2020 edition of the Commemorative Lecture was because of the infamous COVID-19 pandemic.
The hosting of the annual event has been alternated between the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and the University of Cape Coast.
This year’s Prof. Mills Commemorative Lecture originally scheduled to be hosted by UCC. UCC has indicated that the programme and all related updates will be announced later as soon as the way forward is clear.

When did Atta Mills die?
President John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills passed on, on Wednesday, July 24, 2012. The day was a dark day in the history of Ghana and it was the first time Ghana lost a sitting president.
What did John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills die of?
The family of Atta Mills revealed that the former president died as a result of complicated health issues – massive hemorrhagic stroke as a result of a brain aneurysm. Before his death, his voice had voice continually become faint. Members of the then opposition party and now the political party in power had made unsubstantiated claims that John Dramani Maham caused his death.
