Kojo Oppong Nkrumah Full of Praise for Nana Addo and Ofori Atta
A caring and compassionate leader must be keen to support his people in tough times. That’s what President Akufo-Addo is doing through this supplementary budget. He said in his latest tweet.He added that; I count myself privileged to have had the opportunity to serve in parliament today as Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta presented the midyear review of the 2020 budget.
Again, the government promised to establish a GH¢2 billion Guarantee Facility that will help support Ghana’s business sectors aimed at assisting in job retention.
An Unemployment Insurance Scheme (UIS) is also to be put in place while the government will create an additional GH¢100 Fund for Labour as well as Faith-based which will be directed towards retraining and skills development among others.
To further boost the county’s self-reliance agenda, promote the works of the creative industry, the government is to support the CapBuss Programme with GH¢150 million more, facilitate credit of GH¢50 million for the Creative Arts, the Media and the Conference of Independent Universities.
These planned interventions as revealed by the Minister of Finance in the mid-year budget are aimed at building a robust self-sustaining economic, reducing the impact of COVID-19, saving jobs and providing the needed financing for business to grow.
