EC trolled over satisfactory pilot registration success comment
Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) has been trolled by Ghanaians on Facebook after the commission published that it has successfully concluded its Pilot Voters Registration Exercise in all Regions across the country.
This message did not go down well with social media users as many of them took advantage of the opportunity to question the EC.
Below are negative and positive comments as well as suggestions gathered by electionsinghana.com.
1. Poor Jean Mensah. It is never easy to head a public sector organization. Politicians would not allow you to do the right thing. You can’t tell politicians what they have to do. They control everything. I pity Jean Mensah. The woman probably knows what she intends to do is wrong. But she can’t say no because of politicians. I guess if she is able to sleep well with all the armored cars around her. She has no freedom to move around easily unlike you and me. She deserves pity and prayer and not condemnation.
2. Have you forgotten that a common fisherman last forced this same EC to postpone national elections for Assemblymen? Just wait, don’t be full of yourselves. We shall meet one another squarely in the law courts when the time is due. Insha Allah.
3. You are not even worried about referring to the parties as ADVISORY? Have they not been reduced to listening Committee instead of the advisory? You only inform them. You don’t take anything from them so make it clear. Change it to Inter-Party Listening Committee.
4.”We want to call on the EC to make peaceful conduct of this year’s general elections its primary objectives. It would require, among others, that no qualified Ghanaian is disenfranchised, and that the elections are free and fair.
5. We all have to remember that power is not exercised in a vacuum, and so it would be naïve of anyone to think that a constitutionally created “independent body” has unbridled power. That cannot be the intention of the framers of our constitution.”

6. When are u paying us? It’s getting to six months since we worked with u in the District assembly election. This practice is very bad on your path. If this continues u will find it difficult for people to work with you. U do this and u suffer in your old age. Evil minded EC. Don’t let us curse u
7. Whoever is eligible and willing to participate in the process must be allowed to vote. So whatever measures you put in place, you must ensure that you are making it possible for them to vote. On the face of it, it (exclusion of voters ID card) is not helpful because there are a lot of people who do not have the passport and national ID,” .

8. We are tired of your stance, whatever you want to achieve by compiling a new register is up to you guys. But posterity will definitely be the judge. Don’t be deceived that you have the needed protections for yourself and that of your family so you don’t care about the rest of the population. Any soul who loses his or her life because of this new register will rest at your doorstep.
9. I listen to EC and its communicators especially Dr.Serebour then what comes into my heart is the fact that Ghana is lacking leadership. He seems to contradict and misinterpret himself. Where the EC is going is very bad. They have no points whatsoever to compile a new register. They have not understood the electoral processes well.
10. You have demonstrated openly that u don’t have the interest of the nation at heart by throwing common sense and patriotism to the dogs. Sadly enough, you have demonstrated how much of a puppet body you are in the hands of your paymasters and the ruling party NPP.
11.0 Rather, unfortunately, this act of brazing stupidity will not only have repercussions on yourselves and families but the whole nation, especially the vulnerable. Remember for every decision, there are consequences.
12. Where will the rest of the people gather outside the polling station, do you have control over those places? Or as for such places, the people can share the virus among themselves?

13. Please it is about time the information gets to Ghanaians since some political parties have polluted the air about the ways to follow in order to vote. It is very simple. It is just like registering the Ghana card.
14. I bet you, if you’re to follow safety measures with all these issues of proof of citizenship and guarantorship for the millions of voters in Ghana, it should take you not less than four months to be able to register up to 80% of the voters. Remember you still need time for exhibition and validation of the register.
