We’ll Create 8 Million Jobs In 10 Years – Cheddar Manifesto
Nana Kwame Bediako, widely known as Cheddar and the leader of the New Force Movement, has announced an ambitious plan to create 8 million jobs over the next decade during the party manifesto’ lunch.
This initiative aims to address unemployment and boost economic growth throughout the country.
Cheddar’s approach emphasizes several key sectors, including industry, mineral resources, and agriculture.
By making significant investments in these areas, the plan intends to generate a wide variety of job opportunities that cater to different skill levels and educational backgrounds.
During the launch of the New Force Movement’s 12 pillars for economic revolution in Accra on Sunday, Cheddar stated, “We begin by ensuring that we invest in all 16 regions that are industrial, establishing facilities to refine our minerals and processing plants to handle our agricultural products.”
“Our research on resource attribution indicates that gold, iron ore, gas, bauxite, lithium, and diamonds, along with the potential for agro-processing and the vast arable lands in the country, amount to $2.5 trillion. We are committed to unlocking the wealth of every region. Ghana’s economic output will reach $4.7 trillion, and we will create 8 million jobs in the next ten years.”
During a presentation of his 2024 Manifesto, dubbed; ’12 Pillars for Economic Freedom’ Sunday, September 01, 2024, Cheddar said “no industrialisation, no 24-hour economy.”

“Our market women cannot sell gari at Makola for 24 hours. Unless we create industries where a three-hour shift system will be run. So we can’t run a 24-hour economy that way. It is not possible,” he stated.
The flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has proposed the implementation of a 24-hour economy should he win the December 07 election.
John Mahama has said that the policy which will not be mandatory seeks to create more employment to cater for the teeming unemployment in the country.
Cheddar says his government will provide subsidies in terms of power tariffs and tax reliefs for industries that will apply to run the 24-hour economy, whilst security will also be provided for them.
Many have lauded the policy with the Trades Union Congress (TUC) calling it the game-changer.
