PNP confirms Janet Nabla as flagbearer for December 7 polls
The People’s National Party (PNP) has officially announced and confirmed Janet Asana Nabla as its flagbearer for the upcoming elections on December 7. This decision was made during a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on Sunday, September 1.
In addition, Dr Edmund Ayesu has been confirmed as Madam Asana Nabla’s running mate.
“This important decision represents a significant advancement in the PNP’s mission to offer Ghana a leadership team dedicated to transformative change,” stated a release issued on Monday, September 2.
Madam Asana Nabla brings a wealth of experience in public service, health administration, and political leadership.
She is said to bring an unwavering commitment to the values of gender equality, economic sovereignty and social justice.
She was the first female General Secretary of a political party in Ghana while at the helm of the People’s National Convention (PNC).
“Their combined expertise, passion, and strategic vision are set to redefine Ghana’s path to progress, focusing on the pillars of Family, Community, and the Motherland,” the PNP said in the statement issued by General Secretary Suleman Seidu.

As the first woman to hold the position of General Secretary of a political party in Ghana, her pioneering leadership showcases her steadfast commitment to enhancing the lives of all Ghanaians.
Dr Edmund Ayesu, a respected academic and Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Social Science Research at Kumasi Technical University brings valuable expertise in applied econometric modelling, policy development, and civic engagement to the ticket. His alignment with the PNP’s vision for a prosperous and equitable Ghana further bolsters their campaign.
