NPP Endorses Nana Akufo-Addo As 2020 Presidential Candidate
Nana Akufo-Addo is no more a hanging Presidential Candidate because the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the New Patriotic Party has officially endorsed his candidature as the flag bearer for the 2020 general elections to be held in December this year.
When the party opened nominations, Nana Akufo-Addo was the only candidate who stepped forward and it was expected to happen. Today, the party has endorsed Nana Akufo-Addo As 2020 Presidential Candidate.
In a statement sighted by electionsinghana.com, from the New Patriotic Party, the party revealed through Mr. John Boadu, the General Secretary that, “The National Council of our party also accepted a report from the National Vetting Committee that indicated that at the opening and closing of nomination for Presidential candidature of our party, it is only one person, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the President of the Republic who filed at the end of closing of nomination.”
He further indicated that the council has endorsed the sitting president as its sole candidate for the New Patriotic Party.
This announcement was made along with the date slated for the Parliamentary Primaries to elect candidates to represent the party in 168 constituencies. The 168 constituencies are constituencies where the party has seating MPs in parliament.

The party has revealed that it will adhere to strict COVID-19 protocols to ensure, its activities do not lead to the spread of the deadly virus.
This decision to endorse Nana Addo as the sole candidate puts to sleep the matter of how long it will take for the NPP to have an official presidential candidate.
This is expected to shift attention to the camp of the NDC which is yet to announce its running mate and has been trolled by NPP faithful in recent times.
