Ghana’s Election 2024: Voting for Mahama will reverse Ghana’s progress – Akufo-Addo
- Ghana’s Election 2024 is coming and Voting for Mahama will reverse Ghana’s progress.
- The 2024 election is projected to be keenly contested between Mahama and Bawumia.
With barely three months until Ghana’s election in 2024, the President of Ghana and member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has cautioned Ghanaians not to vote for John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to him, a vote for the NDC will lead the country into reverse. While the opposition NDC is calling for voters to help reset Ghana by voting for the NDC, the NPP’s flag bearer is calling on voters to vote for the NPP to help upgrade gains made over the last 8 years.
While Ghana is gearing up for the December 7th election, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo believes that Ghana must continue to move in the direction charted by the NPP. He argued that if Ghanaians vote for NDC and John Mahama, Ghana will head towards the old days of underdevelopment and hardship.
He called on all voters to ensure that their votes were used to reject Mahama and the NDC at the December polls.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo made the urgent call during the sod-cutting ceremony for the expansion of the Tema Motorway in Accra. According to him, the current Vice President and flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, remains Ghana’s best choice with the right mindset and foresight to lead Ghana and provide the kind of development that Ghanaians are yearning for from 2025.

“We are going forward. We are not going back to the era of stagnation and non-performance. We are going forward with [Dr. Mahamudu] Bawumia to a better, more inclusive, and more prosperous Ghana.”
The NDC, on the other hand, has constantly stated that the 2024 December poll is an election between light and darkness. The party has further indicated that Ghana needs an experienced hand and not a driver’s mate who has failed to deliver.
