EC Releases Movement Plan for Phase 4 of 2020 Voters’ Registration

The Electoral Commission of Ghana has released its movement plan for phases 4 of the ongoing nationwide voters’ registration exercise.
The fourth (4) phase which commenced today across the country is expected to help enroll on eligible voters on to the new 2020 2020 Voters Register.

At the end of phase three of the registration exercise, the EC provisional data showed that 7,279,237 have been registered so far with some 11,818 applicants challenged.

The 2020 Voters Registration Proof of Eligibility for Day 1-16 also showed that out of the 7,279,237 registered, 63.8 % of applicants representing 4,644,153 in real terms used the Ghana card. 2504058 representing 34.4% were guaranteed by two already registered voters captured in the new voters’ register being compiled by the Electoral Commission. Just 1.8% of registered voters, thus 131026 used the Ghana Passport as evidence of citizenship.
