2024 Polls: The Youth don’t Want Trial and Error – Mahama
John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has emphasized the need for an experienced leader to steer Ghana’s economy, he says ‘The Youth don’t Want Trial and Error for 2024 polls’.
He believes that Ghanaians are looking for someone with a proven track record, rather than a newcomer to leadership. While addressing the Ada Traditional Council during his campaign on Tuesday, August 27, Mr Mahama stated, “We don’t have time; Ghana cannot afford to waste time. Our youth, who represent both our future and our present, cannot afford to go through trial and error.”
This one will attempt to push us into a ditch, and then the driver’s assistant will come along, take over, and try again, pushing us even deeper into the ditch. “We need someone with experience, someone who has done this before. We need a licensed driver to take control of the vehicle and steer us toward where we are meant to be, the youth don’t want trial”
John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has accused Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of holding a media encounter on Sunday, August 25, with ulterior motives, just a day after the NDC launched their manifesto.

Mr Mahama believes that the purpose of Dr Bawumia’s media engagement was to distract Ghanaians from the NDC’s manifesto. He also pointed out that Dr. Bawumia’s sudden stammering during the encounter revealed his discomfort.
Speaking on the first day of his two-day visit to Ada as part of his Greater Accra Regional campaign on Tuesday, August 27, he remarked, “Just yesterday, the Cedi crossed the 16 Cedi to one dollar mark. When you act with devious intentions, it often backfires. We announced our manifesto launch on August 24, and immediately our opponents declared a media encounter for the very next day, August 25.
“The purpose of scheduling that media encounter right after our manifesto announcement was to divert the attention of Ghanaians away from the NDC manifesto. That was their main motivation for holding a media encounter the day after we launched ours.

“When you engage in deceitful actions, it tends to backfire. You can usually tell when someone is lying; if they are smooth talkers who can rattle off words like machine guns, but suddenly start stammering, that’s a clear sign. Someone who has been speaking ‘ratatatata’ like an AK-47 suddenly stuttering at a media encounter is a telltale sign.” The general 2024 polls the youth don’t want a trial.
