2024 Election IPAC Meeting for March 7th
The first 2024 election IPAC meeting has been scheduled by the Electoral Commission of Ghana.
As part of Ghana’s preparations for the elections, the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) has scheduled a crucial meeting with all political parties and stakeholders for Thursday, March 7, 2024.
Full details on the EC’s 2024 Election IPAC meeting
The Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting was communicated in a letter from the EC dated March 1, 2024, and signed by Mr. Bossman Eric Asare, Deputy Chairman for Corporate Services at the EC. The letter, which was copied to all political party representatives, directed each party to send its representatives to the IPAC meeting.
The meeting, per the letter, will start at 10 a.m. in the IPAC room of the Electoral Commission.
Each recognized political party in Ghana is to send three representatives to the meeting.
The meeting is important for the commencement of preparations for the crucial presidential and parliamentary elections to be held on December 7th, 2024.
The EC’s announcement for the meeting comes after intense pressure from the political parties and members of parliament. One such call on the EC to release its timetable for the 2024 election is captured in this post, “Dr. Omane Boamah’s 2024 Election Questions “Love Letter” to Jean Mensah”
Issues raised by those who called on the EC to communicate its plans for the December polls include the need for the EC to release its timetable for the impending elections.
The Thursday, March 7th, meeting is expected to set the stage for the announcement of election 2024 programmes and usher Ghana into the major election activities ahead of the elections.
The meeting is expected to also provide political parties with further clarifications and raise other pertinent matters that will be open for discussion during this significant gathering of political stakeholders.

The 2024 Presidential Elections
The elections will be held on December 7th, 2024. The 2024 presidential election to be held in December is expected to be a close one between former President John Mahama of the NDC and Dr. Bawumia of the ruling NPP, with little expectation from the other political and independent candidates who will make the presidential ballot paper.
While the New Patriotic Party seeks to break the 8th, the National Democratic Congress is staging a comeback with a call for change in government.
