Samuel Abu Jinapor Clarifies Why He Got Banned From His Home Region
Following his unexpected ban from his home region, Samuel Abu Jinapor has come forward to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident, shedding light on the reasons behind his prohibition.
Samuel Abu Jinapor, who represents Damongo in the House of Representatives, has talked about the recent conflict with the King of Gonjaland, Yagbonwura Bi-Kunuto Soale Jewu Soale. This was the first time Jinapor has spoken publicly about the issue.
The King banned Jinapor from entering Gonjaland or any area within its borders. The ban also applies to any traditional leaders who let Jinapor in. This happened after Gonjaland’s youth protested against Jinapor, who is a prince and the son of the Buipe Wura.
Jinapor explained that the ban was due to his refusal to meet the King’s demands, including arresting certain chiefs and providing a Land Cruiser vehicle. Jinapor believes the King’s actions are not about any real threat to Gonjaland’s peace but rather about these unmet demands. The King has expressed his disappointment and disapproval of Jinapor’s refusal to cooperate. When asked about the situation, Jinapor confirmed the King’s requests but did not provide further details.

Jinapor’s refusal to fulfill the King’s requests, including arresting certain chiefs and providing a Land Cruiser vehicle, led to the King’s decision to ban him from Gonjaland. This conflict became public after a protest by Gonjaland’s youth against Jinapor. Jinapor clarified that the King’s actions were not due to any real threat to the region’s peace but rather because Jinapor did not agree to the King’s demands. The King has shown disappointment with Jinapor’s refusal. When asked for more details, Jinapor confirmed the King’s requests but chose not to elaborate further.
Following the public protest against Jinapor, he issued a statement on July 22 explaining that the ban by the King was linked to his refusal to meet several demands. Jinapor clarified that his rejection of the King’s requests, including the arrest of some chiefs and the provision of a Land Cruiser, was the real reason behind the King’s actions. Jinapor asserted that these refusals were the core issue, rather than any genuine threat to the peace and unity of Gonjaland.

In his statement, Jinapor emphasized that the conflict with the King was more about his decision to deny certain requests rather than any actual disruption to Gonjaland’s harmony. He did not provide further details on the specific requests or his reasons for denying them. Jinapor’s public response aimed to clarify the situation and highlight that the real cause of the King’s ban was his refusal to comply with the demands, rather than any serious threat to the region’s stability.
