GES Gives Update On SHS/SHTS Students Mid-Break
[ad_1]
All SHS students have been given a mid-semester break by the Ghana Education Service(GES). Prior to the update, the mid-semester break can be optional for final year SHS students.
The Ghana Education Service stated in a communique obtained by Ghanaeducation.org, “Management wishes to remind all Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools of the scheduled mid-semester break from 2nd June to 9th June 2023.”
According to the communique, “while the break should be observed, individual schools who wish to have their Form 3 students remain in school to continue preparations for the upcoming WASSCE for School are permitted to do so.”
They made this known via their official social media handles. Read the post in the picture below;
Following the alternative management has urged all heads of various public Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools to ensure that all other students who may wish to remain in school during the period are accommodated.
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC), barring any last-minute changes, will conduct the Ghana version of WASSCE to prospective final-year students in the country from July 31, 2023 to September 26, 2023.
Anges Teye Cudjoe, a spokeswoman for the non-profit organization, said at a press conference that, like last year, Ghana will not write the WASSCE for School with other West African Examinations Council member countries this year.
“The examination, which will once again be a Ghana-only version of the WASSCE will be conducted from Monday, July 31, 2023, to Tuesday, September 26, 2023,” the Public Relations Officer (PRO) told stakeholders at the press briefing.
The West African Senior School Certificate Examination is given to students in their third year of senior high school as well as private candidates. The examination is used for admission to tertiary institutions as well as certification.
