EC increases registration centers to 51 in phase three for Ketu South
The Electoral Commission of Ghana has increased the number of registration centers to 51 for Ketu South.
The commission’s decision was made known by Mr. Kofi Sakyi Boampong, the Ketu South Municipal Officer of the Electoral Commission (EC).
Informing the media, the Ketu South Municipal Officer of the Electoral Commission (EC) said, the increase was made possible because the EC had taken delivery of more Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) kits.

This move is expected to help ensure, the electorates enjoy a smooth fast paced registration which will ensure no one is disenfranchised in the ongoing 2020 voter registration exercise in the Volta Region.
The EC official, Mr. Kofi Sakyi Boampong added that the first two phases of the voter registration in the region had 26 and 25 centers respectively. The EC does not intend to disenfranchise any qualified registrant he added.
In his submission to journalists on the ground, he said.
“Ketu South has a full complement of the biometric registration kits at the 51 centers in phase 3 and that a team has been assigned to check all registration centers to ensure logistics and personnel requirements are met.
The EC has also deployed two mobile registering centers that mop up for registration centers that have so many people to cater for.
In addition, four other Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) kits have been put on standby as a backup for the region should the need to swap machines due to faults arises.
The EC official, Mr. Kofi Sakyi Boampong has indicated that people should not be worried as no qualified Ghanaian would be disenfranchised in the voter registration exercise ongoing in the region.
Electoral Commission (EC) has set aside 40 days for the compilation of the new Voters Register for the upcoming election on December 7th.
The Electoral Commission (EC) indicated that on Tuesday, some 51,098 applicants were successfully registered and issued with their new voter cards.

Ahead of the deployment of the additional Biometric Voter Registration (BVR), 15 registration centers suffered technical hitches however, the EC has assured that it will make up for the lost time
Registration centers that were impacted include Community Centre, Kwakukope, Theresa Prep School, Adina, L/A Prim School, Tetekope 1, L/A JHS, and Tetekope 2,
Other centers include the R.C. Prim Sch, Adafienu 1, R.C. JHS, Adafienu 2 and L/A JHS, Adafienu all in the Volta Region which is the stronghold of the opposition National Democratic Congress.
