NCOPST lobbies for private school teachers to be employed by GES
The National Council of Private School Teachers (NCOPST) continues to lobby for private school teachers to be employed by the GES. During a recent visit to the Ministry of Education, the leadership of the private schools’ council, the NCOPST lobbied for slots for recruitment of members anytime there is clearance for the recruitment of teachers into GES.
To further ensure that, private schools do not lack professional teachers each time teachers in the private schools are recruited by the Ghana Education Service, NCOPST is taking proactive steps in training teachers to be recruited into private schools to replace the professional ones recruited into GES.
As part of its effort to help attain this goal, the executives submitted data on a few of the qualified members (teachers) to be recruited into GES to the Ministry. Discussions with the Minister of Education also focused on STEM Education clubs in private schools.
The national council of private school teachers paid a courtesy visit to the minister of education on 8th March 2022.
